Week 12: Finally! Term's over, assignment deadlines are done and I'm free!!!! I couldn't take any more late nights so took the weekend and beginnin of the week off ... regretted it on Thursday when I rememberd todays deadline! So the WebTech workfolder was rushed and I only did half of it. None of my group wanna let me copy after the lecturer's harsh warnins -- claims he caught half the class copyin workfolder stuff last year. At least it's over and I can get a good degree from my other modules. I wonder if Dr Price will let me do a project with him? Web stuff sounds cool and surely an HTML project's gotta be easy!

Week 11: Well we handed it in on the deadline (2pm!) Only completed stage 1, stage 2 partially works, stage 3 the ball doesn't bounce off of the bricks (man that's hard!) and stages 4, 5 & 6 all do something but not much more than stage 3! I hope the rest of the class are similar (I've heard lots of peeps were stuck...) maybe we'll scrape a decent mark!
The weekly assignments are due next week so we're all still busy -- it's all the other assignments due that's fillin the time. Note for next year: Plan my time better! I only need 4 good 2nd year modules so hope semester 2 goes better.

Week 10: No time to blog -- scouring the web for Java blox games, my group's real disappointed as I didn't do my bit (it's too hard, man!) so I'm tryin' to scare up some code from elsewhere...

Week 9: Deadline's a week on Friday. Man, oh man we're late with it -- my other work's taken a real slide. My cousin's even offered to help but he's not a JavaScript programmer (my mistake: he's a Java programmer and when I asked about a bit of help he laughed!)

Week 8: Wow man, this is not good! The game's 30%, the weekly assignments are 40%, no way to pass without them -- I'm begining to panic! My group's made no progress with the project and we're all behind in the exercises, therez less than 2 weeks to go and the other module assignments are building up! I wish we'd started earlier...

Week 8 We had another meet this week. The 1st stage in the game is giving us a few problems. We've wasted a few hours trying to turn the crappy psoodocode from the lecture notes into some Java but it's fulla bugs. We're gonna have a word with another group to see if they've solved it. Mebbe a bit worryin as there's 2 weeks left and 6 stages to go... I wish we had a big brain like Sandra's group -- she says we can't copy off her which is lame! (Maybe not -- the lecturer's only got 30-odd games to check so I guess we'd better be unique!)

Week 7: Another lecture packed with references to the game. Is this some kinda hint? Surely 3 weeks and 5 guys will be enough? We're all slightly behind in our weekly assignments and 'formative quizes' (WTF are they for?) but no-one's panicing yet -- the weekly assignments are due in a week after the game which is sweet!

Week 6: Hmmm ... lecture this week had examples of the 1st 2 stages in the game ... they look kinda tough. Ah well, there's 5 of us and 4 weeks left 'til the deadline. I'm sure we'll cope.

Week 5: Cool -- half-term! A whole week off!! The Uni. calls it "Study Week" but I'm not studying ... me and my group are confident we're close enough to being up to date with our weekly stuff that it'll take no time at all to catch up nearer the December deadline (there's 5 of us, right?) The Group Work is going well -- we've had our 1st meeting and decided unanimously to leave it for a coupla weeks! 6 stages in the blox game and 6 weeks left seems easy!

Week 4: Dr Price has fixed it after Asif finally went and apologised for forgetting to sign us up. My group is Asif, Binky, Chandla, Deepa and me. We're gonna do a blocks game (Dr Price calls it "Breakout" cos hes old) usin JavaScrip and HTML. No worries though -- deadline's not til December and I'm sure we can sort it in a coupla days (only 6 parts to the game so no probs.) We got a sudocode example for the 1st part of the game today -- that's gonna make it sooo easy in the end!

Week 3: Bloody Asif forgot to write us down, that's weak man! Dr Price was kinda pissed when I started blaming him but he has the sheet and we're not on it .. gonna kick Asif's but and make him sort it out with the lecturer.
Week 3: Just check out my group on Dr price's web page and I'm not in the right group! Gonna go and see the lecturer to sort his stupid mistake out now!
Thursday, October 09, 2003
Week 2: Dr Price reminded us that his deadline for signing-up groups is Monday -- gonna check if Asif did what he said (he says he did...)

Week 1 First lecture today & damn ... this Web Technologies module is harsh! We've loads of work on the timetable and the lecturer has told us we need to find groups of 3-6 bods to work with ... I'm gonna team up with my 4 buds from last year. Asked Asif to sign up for us on the lecturer's sheet -- we've 2 weeks to decide so no worries!
Lecturer's name is "Dr James Denholm-Price" (he made us write it down!) but he says "James" is OK ... We all laughed in the lecture when a kid's phone went off & Dr Price asked what was so important it was worth failing for. I'm safe -- my phone's on silent!
